UK Novel Writing Competition.

About a year ago or so I entered the UK Novel Writing Competition. The unique feature of this competition is that the public are the judges and anyone can sign up to read these books. Also the authors' names aren't included with the book titles as to avoid anyone being influenced. It also meant I had to keep quiet about it in case it would be seen as me trying to promote my book if any of the judges came across my website, Twitter or blog. There were three rounds to this competition and I managed to get to the final round but alas I didn't win. Out of 3112 entries I managed to get into the top 25 so it was still quite an achievement.

The book is called Effluo Insula or Effluo Insula: Vern's Tale to give it its full title. It's available on Amazon Kindle as an ebook and on Lulu in printed form. It's essentially a fantasy novel about a mysterious island, cultists and a monster troll containing lots of sword fighting and a very unexpected twist at the end. The two sequels are the same story told from different character perspectives.

Charity Cosplay.

In July 2017 I cosplayed as Lara Croft at the London Film & Comic Convention dressed as the traditional Lara with blue top, brown shorts and backpack. Technically speaking the blue top should be a one-piece leotard but I wore a vest instead. Through sponsorship I raised 315 for the charity Mind which has been a great help to me over the past few years.

More information about my day at the London Film & Comic Con can be found on my blog as well as a Youtube which contains a short slideshow of my day.

Coming Soon.

There's a lot happening this year with upcoming Kindle books planned as well as more interactive stories that I will post on this website for free.

A sequel of my first novel bee has been in the works for quite some time, even the cover has already been designed, but as of yet I haven't put pen to paper so to speak. It's not that I have writer's block or anything along those lines it's just that I've had so much other work taking priority. bee is one of those books that's close to my heart and I want its sequel to be as perfect as it can be. Pretty much every chapter has been outlined but as of yet I still haven't an ending. This is vice versa of how I wrote bee when I had the ending first and had to create the rest of the story leading up to it.

I've been re-pricing my Kindle books recently keeping the prices to a minimum yet reasonable. Basically my short stories are 99p while my larger books are around 2.40 each. There will be a variation of a penny or so due to the way Amazon works. The trilogy versions of my books that I'll upload later will be priced so they'll be a little cheaper than if bought as separate volumes. All my books are free if you have Kindle Unlimited.

There's a series of short interactive stories planned that I intend to post on this site later in the year. While the style of the stories will be similar they will range vastly in genre consisting of sci-fi, fantasy and contemporary stories. I've also a light-hearted interactive story planned too called Witch Which Way based upon maze based adventure games of old.
